Places To Visit in India: Wildlife in India

India has a pretty large area under the forest usage  referred as the Forest Land and  popularly known as the National Parks, Bird & Wildlife Sanctuaries.

As per the United Nations estimates the total forest cover in India is 64 million hectares nearly 19.5% of country’s area, hence it supports a variety of Wildlife, Flora & Fauna.
The major states that have the forest covers are: Madhya Pradesh (7.64 million hectares), Arunachal Pradesh (6.8 million hectares), Chhattisgarh (5.6 million hectares), Odisha (4.83 million hectares) and Maharashtra (4.68 million hectares)

The most famous wildlife species that the Indian jungles are abode of are: Tigers, Leopards, Lions, Tusker Elephants, Single Horned Rhinos, Gaur (Bison), Sloth Bear, Deer, Monkeys, Crocodiles, Antelopes, Snakes etc.
The region’s rich and diverse wildlife is preserved in 89 national parks, 18 Bio reserves and 400+ wildlife sanctuaries across the country where one can visit to see the wildlife, famous being the Corbett National Park, Ranthambhore National Park, Keoladeo Ghana National Park, Kanha National Park, Bandhavgarh National Park, Pench National Park, Manas National Park, Dudhwa National Park, Kaziranga National Park, Dachigam National Park.
The Best Season to Visit the National Parks & Wildlife Sanctuaries is October till May. From June to September parks & sanctuaries are closed to visitors, for the head counting of the endangered species and the maintenance of the parks.
Visit to these Parks and  sanctuaries and  staying there, one feels so close to the nature and away from the Hustle & Bustle of the cities, that will force you think your linkage with the Mother Nature.
